In Milwaukee, we don’t need an excuse to have a good time. Now that summer’s here, though, we have plenty of them!  From festivals and concerts to art crawls and air shows, Milwaukee knows how to celebrate in style. So, mark your calendars, and check out some of the most anticipated summer events in and around town.

Milwaukee Summer Events 2019


When:  June 26th – July 7th

Where:  Henry W. Maier Festival Park

Milwaukeeans know that summertime means Summerfest time!  For 11 days, Henry Maier Festival Park is the place to be for music lovers everywhere.  With over 800 acts playing on 11 stages, fans will find all of their popular favorites spanning every genre, from alternative, to rock, to country, to R&B, pop, and more.  And, as if that’s not enough, festival goers will also find some of Milwaukee’s best eats on-sight with tasty treats to keep you fueled to rock out, as well as unique shopping vendors and marketplaces.  Trust us, this is one summer tradition you don’t want to miss!

River Rhythms Summer Concert Series

When:  Wednesdays from June 12th – August 28th

Where:  Pere Marquette Park

This free outdoor summer concert series in Pere Marquette Park is the place to be to unwind on Wednesday nights.  Every Wednesday from June 12th to August 28th, River Rhythms will host some of the best local talent.  For a full look at this summer’s lineup, head over to their website.  

Lakefront Festival of Art

When:  June 21st – 23rd

Where:  Milwaukee Art Museum

The Lakefront Festival of Art is both a local and visitor favorite.  This year, the festival returns with new experiences and surprises on the lakefront for people of all ages to enjoy.  In addition to the stunning works on display, activities include The PNC children’s Experience, a sculpture garden, and a silent auction.  There will also be food vendors, a fantastic musical lineup, and more!

Gallery Night and Day

When:  July 19th and 20th

Where:  Various locations.  Visit the website for a full list of participating venues.

Whether you’re an experienced art connoisseur or a new admirer, Gallery Night and Day brings the Milwaukee community together for this two-day premier art event.  It’s a chance to discover new art, artists and galleries, as well as browse shops, explore museums, and more. Each venue sets its own hours for the event, so be sure to check the website for full details.

Milwaukee Brewfest

When:  Saturday, July 27th

Where:  McKinley Park

Celebrating its 10th year, the Milwaukee Brewfest is a local favorite!  Sitting right on the lakefront, festival-goers can sample hundreds of craft beers, microbrews and ciders from all around the world.   The event also features live musical performances, a silent auction and games that benefit charity, lots of tasty treats from local restaurants and vendors, and more.     

Milwaukee Air & Water Show 

When:  July 27th and 28th

Where:  Bradford Beach

The Milwaukee Air & Water Show brings both Milwaukeeans and visitors from afar the thrill of aerial and water-based acrobatics in a fun, family-friendly environment.  The Air Show is Wisconsin’s largest free event for the general public and is one of the most beloved community events each year.  This year’s “performers” include the USAF Thunderbirds and the Badgerland Ski Team. You won’t want to miss this memorable and educational experience.
