Bay View, the fun just keeps on going!  This has already been an exciting summer with all of the festivals and events happening in and around Milwaukee.  August will be no exception, as we start to close out a truly awesome season. So, here’s a look at a few can’t-miss Milwaukee festivals in August 2018:  

Milwaukee Comedy Festival

When:  Wednesday, August 1st – Sunday, August 5th

Where:  Check website for locations – mkecomedyfest.com

These days, we could all use a good laugh, so mark the Milwaukee Comedy Festival on your calendar.  This classic festival is back for its annual visit with performances from talent, both old and new, spanning every style and genre.  

Wisconsin State Fair

When:  Thursday, August 2nd – Sunday, August 12th

Where:  Wisconsin State Fair Park

For ten days next month, Wisconsinites will come together to enjoy all of the summer fair favorites, like classic cream puffs, fried Oreos and so many other tasty treats brought to you by the winners of the Golden Spork Awards.  Fair goers can also enjoy walking the grounds, hopping on and off of amusement park rides, watching endless fair competitions and listening to all sorts of live music. Taking the main stage this year is Alice Cooper, TLC, Why Don’t We, Cole Swindell, Reba McEntire and more.

Milwaukee Concours d’Elegance

When:  Saturday, August 4th – Sunday, August 5th

Where:  Veterans Park

This annual classic car show will bring a touch of elegance to your weekend, as it features some of the most luxurious high-end motorcars throughout history.  And, specially featured this year will be several rare Ferrari America models that are sure to rev your engines. 

Waukesha BluesFest

When:  Friday, August 10th – Saturday, August 11th

Where: Naga-Waukee Park in Delafield

Known as an “American Music and Art Festival,” the Waukesha BluesFest features blues, R&B, soul, gospel and roots music with a little rock and roll and country mixed in.  This year’s headliners include Joe Louis Walker and Carolyn Wonderland playing on Friday night, and Nikki Hill and Eddie “The Chief” Clearwater hitting the stage on Saturday.

Irish Fest

When:  Thursday, August 16th – Sunday, August 19th

Where: Henry Maier Festival Park

You won’t want to miss Irish Fest!  Known as the world’s largest Irish music and culture celebration, this four-day family festival showcases more than 100 entertainment acts from all over the world.  This year’s event will include several local Irish dance groups, over 30 Milwaukee groups and about 90 vendors all selling Irish crafts and goodies.

India Fest

When:  Saturday, August 18th

Where: Humboldt Park

India Fest is one of our city’s brightest summer festivals that you won’t want to miss!  The annual event will feature colorful dancers, lively music, authentic food and marketplaces filled with all sorts of goodies.

Punk Fest 8

When:  Thursday, August 23rd – Sunday, August 26th

Where:  The Local/Quarters

MKE Punk Fest is ready to rock!  This annual event brings together acts from across the state and country with a lineup this year that includes the likes of The Red Flags, Faux Fiction, The Meatcurtains, Hi/Jack, Gas Station Sushi and so many more.

Milwaukee Fringe Festival

When:  Saturday, August 25th – August 26th

Where:  Check website for various downtown locations – mkefringe.com

The third annual Milwaukee Fringe Festival showcases local artists, painters, dancers, performers, playwrights and many other types of artists.  They will all be spread throughout the Marcus Center’s Wilson Center at Vogel Hall, Todd Wehr Theater, Peck Pavilion and several other Downtown stages ready to shine a light on our city’s incredible art scene. 

Mexican Fiesta

When: Friday, August 24th – Sunday, August 26th

Where: Henry Maier Festival Park

This festival celebrates Mexico’s rich history through art, music, food and more.  Festival goers can sample wines, enjoy taco dinners, browse art galleries, participate in a golf tournament or even the Fiesta Run/Walk.  There will also be various contests in the areas of dance, eating and costumes.
