First-Time Visitors’ Guide to Bay View

Whether your travel interests are more “outdoorsy” or “foodie”, urban or rural, there’s a reason to travel to Wisconsin – and one of those reasons is Bay View!  

We are in love with our beautiful, vibrant little neighborhood, and we know that you will be too. From the scenery to booming art and culinary scene (they don’t call us “The Dairy State” for nothing!) to the craft breweries, markets, and more, our little corner of the world is drawing visitors from all across the globe.

Our boutique hotel is right in the center of it all and ready to give first-time visitors the perfect weekend stay.  We want to share the Bay View experience with you and that home-away-from-home feeling.  So, here’s a little guide for the first-time visitors to our beloved community:

Bay View, WI Entertainment & Exploration

Chill On The Hill

Bay View is home to Humboldt Park, which features a beautiful bandshell especially designed for acoustic excellence.  Check out their calendar of events to see what’s coming up!

The Avalon Theater

Up your movie night game at this gorgeous, atmospheric theater where movie-goers can dine while taking in a flick.

Milwaukee Art Museum

Just outside of town is the Milwaukee Art Museum, a very influential museum that’s a great source of both education and inspiration to all who visit.

Houghton Falls State Natural Area

Go for a hike at Houghton Falls.  The area protects a picturesque Precambrian sandstone gorge along the Lake Superior shore. The dramatic sandstone cliffs extend into the clear waters of Lake Superior giving way to beautiful views of the Apostle Islands.

Bay View, WI Night Life

There is never a good excuse for boredom when you’re staying in Bay View. We have all the best hotspots Milwaukee has to offer.

Sugar Maple

A favorite local spot, this sleek, wood-accented bar serves more than 60 American craft beers in a relaxed atmosphere.

Burnheart’s

This small neighborhood haunt features clever cocktails and craft beer on tap.  Guests can also enjoy their drinks while playing a game of pool or shuffleboard.   

Bryant’s Cocktail Lounge

For that hipster vibe, check out this stylish cocktail lounge and their endless menu of creative, vintage cocktails.

Boone and Crockett

This bi-level nightspot serves up craft beer and cocktails alongside pool tables and features live music several nights a week.

When you come to Milwaukee, there is no better food destination than Bay View – no need to plan ahead. Your only problem is going to be choosing a favorite – trust us, we’ve been here for years, and we still haven’t been able to sort that out. Here’s a list of Bay View eateries to get you started:

Kindred on KK

Kindred on KK are our friends just downstairs and is a space for all to gather and dine like family.  Come down and eat, drink, enjoy and relax in this warm environment where strangers become friends and friends become family.  Kindred truly sums up our community vibe!

Odd Duck

Don’t miss this quirky find that features an ever-changing New American shared-plate menu and creative cocktails.

Palomino

Mm-mmm good!  This southern-inspired fare is paired with craft beers and bourbon in a relaxed restaurant/bar with a pool table.

Cafe Corazonoh

Cafe Corazon aims to serve up the freshest local ingredients.  They proudly to serve beef and seasonal produce from the family farm, Richway Acres.

Little DeMarinis Pizza

Enjoy the best pizza in town with gourmet pizzas from Little DeMarinis’.  Visitors can dine here six days a week, and they’re pen late on Fridays and Saturdays.

La Merenda

This colorful spot has an outdoor bar and a menu of globally inspired small plates, local beers and wine.

Harbor House

Looking for a more upscale spot for a night out during your stay?  Head to Harbor House for views of Lake Michigan the skyline as you’re served steak, seafood dishes wine.

Lake Park Bistro

The Lake Park Bistro is a historic pavilion, adorned with a warm French kitchen, nestled on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan.

Wolf Peach

This posh spot features wood-fired pizza and European-style dishes made from area-sourced ingredients.

Sanford
