The winter thaw is well underway, and the air is getting warmer with each passing day.  Finally! Spring is in the air! And, as the days get longer, and the sun shines brighter, it’s time to get out and get active to enjoy this most beautiful time of year.  So, we’re taking a closer look at some of the exciting events happening right here in Bay View and our surrounding area so that you can take advantage of all of the wonderful things happening this season!  Here’s a sneak peek at just a few events we’re excited to explore:

Chill On The Hill Line-Up Release Party

When:  Tuesday, April 23rd at 7:30 p.m.  

Where:  Twisted Path Distillery

Springtime means it’s almost time to kick of Chill On the Hill!  And, to get the ball rolling, bring your friends and family out to join the rest of the community at the Line-Up Release Party where this year’s live musical acts will be revealed.  So, don’t forget to mark your calendars for this most beloved tradition happening every Tuesday night throughout the Summer months.

Taste of Italy

When:   Sunday, April 28th

Where:  Italian Community Center

Ditch your traditional Sunday brunch plans of pancakes and Bloody Marys for a stylish Italian brunch complete with limoncello, cannoli, and calamari.  The 24th annual Taste of Italy food fair is returning to the Italian Community Center.  Admission is free, and food items are just $2 each!

Bay View Gallery Night

When: Friday, May 31st from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Where:  Visit http://www.bvgn.org for a complete list of participating locations.

Come out and celebrate local Milwaukee art, music, and local business all in one amazing evening.  This annual event highlights the connection between local arts, local business, and the community at large.  The goal is to promote and spark a more unified connection toward creating greater awareness of our local artistic and economic wealth.    

Milwaukee Highland Games

When:  Saturday, June 1st

Where:  Hart Park

You won’t want to miss this weekend of Celtic fun for the whole family.  Whether you’re there to explore your own family history, or to check out the parade and kilts, eat some Scottish food, play with dogs, throw a battle axe, or just kick back with a pint at the pub while listening to authentic Celtic music, this annual festival never disappoints!  

PrideFest Milwaukee

When:  Thursday, June 6th – Sunday, June 9th

Where:  Henry W. Maier Festival Park

PrideFest Milwaukee is the nation’s largest LGBTQ festival.  Come out and join Milwaukee Pride in celebration of 32 years of diverse local LGBTQ cultures and communities.  The entertainment schedule hasn’t been announced yet, so be sure to check the website for updates and announcements.   

Firkin Fest

When:  Saturday, June 8th

Where:  Cathedral Square Park

The Milwaukee Firkin Fest is a celebration of Milwaukee’s greatest beers.  From past traditions to our present-day brews, to the exciting flavors to come, Milwaukeeans know our beer is great!  So, mark your calendars for this year’s Firkin Fest where guests will get to sample from over 150 brews, check out beer memorabilia at the Breweriana Tent, enjoy live entertainment, and more!
